2. Making a contract with us

2.1 When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.

2.2 For items of a none custom nature, ie Jewellery, Calendars, and cards, bloomers and t-shirts, once we have reviewed your order we will e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us.

2.3 For made to measure orders, such as skirts, corsetry, jackets, costumes and formal wear, your contract with us begins once you have submitted your measurements order form to us. Until then no contract exists between us.

2.4 In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.

2.5 Images of products on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Your goods may vary slightly from the image shown on the website and will not include any of the pictured accessories, unless stated in the specification of the goods.

2.6 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on this website. However, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the actual goods.

2.7 Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and is provided in good faith.

2.8 This contract is covered by English law.

2.9 By placing an order with us, you agree to and accept these terms, as well as our privacy policy and the terms of website use.

3. How to place order

3.1 You can use our website to place an order by selecting the product you wish to buy and adding it to your basket. Items you do not require can be removed from your basket at any time. If you prefer to order by telephone you can do so by calling 01502 580786.

3.2 For made to measure garments, you will need to complete the requisite measurement form for the garment you wish to purchase. These forms can be found in the measurements form tab in the main menu for the website. We cannot accept a made to measure order based upon what dress size you may wear. There is a huge disparity of sizing within the retail garment sector, and therefore, we cannot accept that as your measurements. You will need to physically measure yourself, using a dressmakers tape measure only, and complete the form.

3.3 Measurements taken using string or metal rulers, give distorted results and we will not accept any measurements that are not taken in accordance with paragraph 3.2 above.

3.4 For entirely bespoke commissions, ie bespoke corsetry, any and all bridal wear, bespoke costumes, and any and all prom wear can only be ordered via email. You will need to email us your exact specifications, and we will give you a price upon those specifications. You will be required to measure yourself and complete a measurements order form through the website, or you can opt to travel to us at your own expense and have us measure you in person.

3.5 Carriage charges will be shown prior to you placing your order.

3.6 For all items ordered through the online shop you will be required to pay for the goods in full at the time of ordering.

For bespoke commissions, you are required to pay a 50% deposit initially, a further 25% of total upon satisfactory fitting of your toile and the remaining 25% once the job is complete.

3.7 We use secure payment facilities for online purchases. You can pay for your order by PayPal only through the online shop. For custom commissions we accept payment via bank transfer only. We will supply you with the required details after we notify you of our acceptance of your commission.

3.8 Promotional prices only apply during the period stated.

3.9 All prices quoted on our website are in UK pounds and include Value Added Tax at the current rate.

3.10 Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges or delays.

3.11 Once your order is complete we will notify you of the dispatch date.

4. Delivery & Carriage Charges

4.1 Goods ordered via the online shop that are not made to measure, ie Jewellery, Cards, t-shirts and gift certificates are normally despatched within 3 working days.

4.2 Orders are despatched via Royal Mail first class delivery. We operate a postage calculation by weight on our site, so if you order more than one item, the whole weight of the order will be calculated and you will be charged a single price for the total weight of your order. The current postage weights are as follows:

Below 100g                           £2.25

Between 100g & 199g          £2.75

Between 200g & 299g          £3.50

Between 300g & 499g          £4.25

Between 500g & 999g          £8.50 via Special Delivery next day before 1pm

Between 1kg & 2kg              £11.50 via Special Delivery next day before 1pm


4.3 If your order is over £50 in value, but is not over 500g in weight, we will automatically upgrade your postage service to Special Delivery by 1pm the next day at no extra cost to you.

4.4 Once an item has been despatched via special delivery, it will be delivered by 1pm the next day unless it is despatched on a Friday or Saturday in which case it will be delivered on the following Monday. We cannot be held liable for items that are held up within the Royal Mail delivery system.

4.5 Your order may arrive in more than one delivery

4.6  We will deliver our products anywhere in mainland Great Britain and Republic of Ireland. Unfortunately we do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Highlands/Islands of Scotland, however we are able to deliver to a mainland courier company on your behalf for onward shipping.

4.7 All bespoke orders will be sent via courier of our choice at the best price we can find and you will be quoted for your delivery costs.  We do not send items to PO Box numbers due to high instances of non-receipt.

4.8 We will deliver the goods to the address you specify on your order. If you are not in to take receipt of goods despatched via Special Delivery & have arrangements with your local postman to leave goods on your property unattended, we will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery company to leave the goods unattended.

4.9 Disposal of packing materials is your responsibility.

4.10 If your goods are returned due to none delivery we reserve the right to charge you an additional re-delivery charge.

4.11 If you change the delivery address once the goods have been dispatched to you, we reserve the right to pass on any extra charges incurred for redirecting your delivery.

4.12 Please check the goods on delivery - any goods found to be missing or damaged should be notified to us within a reasonable time.

4.13 If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly in writing via email.

4.14 Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control we may be prevented from delivering your goods as planned. These might include things such as accidents, breakdowns, fire, flood, storm, severe weather, acts of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage or the default of our suppliers. We will try to put things right as soon as possible however we can’t be responsible where this causes a delay or failure in delivering your goods.

4.15 Time is not the essence of the contract unless expressly stated otherwise.

5. Cancellation and returns

5.1 This policy does not apply to goods ordered by businesses which are exempt from the Distance Selling Regulations, or the following goods which are exempt from the right to cancel:

Any items which have been personalized or modified to your specification, such as made to measure items including corsetry, skirts, jackets and costumes that we sell via the online shop, as well as any and all bespoke commissions.

5.2  You can cancel your contract of goods eligible for return at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery. To do this, please e-mail, fax or write to us. We are unable to accept cancellations by phone.

5.3 You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

5.4 If you cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days of cancellation, complete with the original packaging to us, at your own expense. You must ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage.

5.5 You may properly examine the goods for 7 working days as you would had you visited us in person, however you may not return any goods that have been worn unless they are faulty.

5.6 If you fail to return the goods, we cannot refund your money. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

5.7 We will refund all monies paid to us by you including any postage/carriage within 30 days, less any costs due under this contract.

5.8 Business customers, or customers exempt from the distance selling regulations may not cancel an order without our mutual agreement.

This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights - for example, if goods are faulty or not as described.

6. Faulty Goods / Guarantee

6.1 If there is a problem with the goods, please notify us by email or in writing providing details of the problem. Please email us a digital photograph clearly showing the problem as this normally saves you having to return the goods for inspection. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.

6.2 All goods handmade by Vintage Lynndy Loo are made to the highest standards using materials and components suitable for the goods in question. However, we do not accept any liability for any damage or injury arising from not using the goods within the stated guidelines which we provide in your despatch parcel.

6.3 The manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to the rights that the law says you have as a consumer and accordingly, your statutory rights are not affected.

6.4 If an exchange is necessary, this will be arranged without unreasonable delay and without charge. Replacement goods will not be dispatched until the original goods have been received at our warehouse and checked.

The cost of returning the goods to us is your responsibility. However, on inspection we will refund your reasonable postage costs, providing that the goods are found to be faulty. If the goods are not faulty, we will return them to you, however you will be required to cover our reasonable postage costs.

6.5 Corsetry and clothing garments should be cleaned in accordance with our care and maintenance instructions.

6.6 Corsetry should be stored as we advise you in order to maintain the integrity of it’s construction.  

6.7 Within this time scale we will replace defective goods free of charge, at our discretion, providing that you have returned to us any faulty goods upon request.

6.8 If an item is no longer available we will offer an alternative. However our liability will be to replace the faulty goods only and we are unable to guarantee an exact match. In this instance you will have the option of a refund.

6.9  We are unable to guarantee and exact colour match due to the nature of the product.

8. Liability

8.1  The products sold on this website have been designed to comply with all relevant UK legislation. We cannot warrant or represent that they comply with any legal requirement outside the uk.

8.2 We do not accept liability for any consequential loss of profit or indirect losses.

3.1 We take all reasonable steps to ensure that this Website is available 24 hours every day, 365 days per year. However, websites do sometimes encounter downtime due to server and, other technical issues. Therefore we will not be liable if this website is unavailable at any time.

4.1  Any links to third party websites located on this Website are provided for your convenience only.  We have not reviewed each third party website and have no responsibility for such third party websites or their content. 

4.2 If you would like to link to this Website, you may only do so on the basis that you link to, but do not replicate, any page on this Website and you do not in any way imply that we are endorsing any services or products unless this has been specifically agreed with us.
